Mauritian Open Day Chestnut Park Your Views Please

I felt the organisation was poor. Many long unnecessary queues, on a hot day this proved too much for many people.

Many were stuck outside waiting to get in while their favourite artist were performing.

PA was poor for a decent sized venue.

£5 for adults and children over 5 years old is a bit greedy.

Saving grace...Didier Clarel and Zoil Foudation special mention for Zeness Bat Sega.

peace

Guess it was more a 'Mo fer Cass Day' rather than a typical Mauritian Day we would have expected

I attended a couple of those supposedly Mauririan day in the past, and formulated the same negative opinion as you. The arrangement was left to be desired. The sound control was amateurish and the stalls were there to rip the attendants who came to get into the mauritian swing.
They organise these events knowing fully well that, where there is sega, mauritians abroad will fork out any sum to attend.

If I were you, I would write to the organiser echoing my discontent, contact the propriator of the venue informing them of the big racket and insert an adverse report in the Mauritius News to warn the following year's prospective attendants.
Nobody mess me about as money dont grow on trees.

What a disappointment....

The staff at the 'ticket' desk were extremely unprofessional and rude. There seemed to be no communication between staff/organisers and security.

I was embarrassed to be Mauritian on Sunday.

As already mentioned, the only saving grace was Didier Clarel, Zoil Foundation and the magnificent, Nitish Joganah. I only enjoyed the last hour of the event, which was a waste of time, effort and money...

Shame the sound quality was poor. Music from event organisers on the opposite side of the park had better sound... though the music was clashing with the live music at times.... When the headline acts performed, arrangements should have been made for the other stalls to stop playing music for the simple reason that we were there to listen and watch live sega performances....

I will complain to mauritian vibes. I will not attend another of these events in the future.... I have learnt my lesson the hard way....

Ye Pomme, air your disappointment loud and clear to prevent another disaster next year. They failed to realise that Mauritians travel from far away to attend these Mauritian gatherings
I hope the organisers are reading and digesting these posts.

This event is by far the worst event ever organised in the UK. After waiting in the long queue , you have the arrogant staffs standing near the gates.

When asked about the long waiting and lack of organisation , one of the promoter just said si pas content , prend to cass aller ...

Could it get worst?

YES!

They had the cheapest sound system , cause the sound was so bad!

I could have given £5 for charity without doubt , but this event for me is just stealing money from people. Saving grace like they mentioned above is Zoil foundation and didier clarel.

One thing was sure since that day ... the only thing prize mauritianvibes can claim is

'Worst event ever'

I will make sure my friends and relatives dont waste their money again ...

The complaints should have been made there and then, do like I did once with my pals in Epsom. We created such a fuss that we got our money back and still stayed in the compound till the end of the poorly organised gig.

Now that you are all airing your disgruntlement, I am sure that the greedy organiser will stage another Mauritians' gathering next year under another name. Who knows that he's got something up his sleeves for Christmas?

Keep up the fight and stand up for your rights like my late friend Bob Marley once wrote in his song.
